By agreeing to the code of conduct, you are declaring that you understand that:
The event will be held in an appropriate location that can be easily accessed by members of the public. This may be a higher education institution, or an external venue (for example: museum, gallery, theatre, science centre).
The event will be held in a location with appropriate accessibility arrangements in place, so that no member of the public is prevented from attending.
The event should not be held with the intention of making financial gain.
Where possible, the event will be free of charge for the public to attend.
Any profit generated though hosting the event will go to either the non-profit venue or to a relevant charity.
If specimens are being used, they must be of animal origin only. No human specimens should be used for this event.
All social media posts and marketing materials will be written in such a way that it cannot be misconstrued that any dissections are anything other than animal in origin. i.e. not ‘live’ dissections from a medical school without clearly stating that they are using animal organs.
You must use the resources provided and maintain the existing formatting and logos.
You must display the station poster, as this acknowledges the original station creator(s).
You must display the ‘About the Event’ poster, as this acknowledges the original event creator(s).
All marketing should include the ‘World Anatomy Day’ logo and ‘Bits and Bobs: The Anatomy of Sex’ title. Where possible, please tag/mention the relevant ‘anatomyofbits’ social media account(s).
The event should be presented in an educational context and be advertised and marketed as such.
Staff involved with delivery of the event and engaging with the public must have the relevant qualifications and expertise (i.e. anatomy demonstrators, lecturers, etc.).
Information shared though the event should be evidence-based and factually correct.
Any students involved in the event should be adequately trained, supported and supervised.
Acknowledgment of original station leads should be displayed at the event. This is listed on each station poster and the ‘About the Event’ acknowledgement poster. Please do not edit the acknowledgement section of these posters.
All staff should make efforts for the resources and event to be inclusive.
Be aware the subject nature may be potentially triggering or offensive to some participants.
A poster with a QR code linking to suggested further reading can be displayed for participants and is provided in the event resources package.
All images used must have appropriate licencing (E.g., Creative Commons, institutional license). Resources should not be distributed to participants.
Provided resources can be adapted (maintaining Bits and Bobs: The Anatomy of Sex branding, logos, and formatting).
Provided resources should not be distributed to participants.
Provided resources are to be used for the sole purpose of hosting a Bits and Bobs: The Anatomy of Sex public engagement event. Provided resources should not be used for teaching or for any other purpose. This includes any adapted versions.
